O King (O Dhritrashtra)! Thus spoken (bidden) by
Ajuna (gudaakeshen,
गुडाकेशेन ) Krishna (hrishikesho; हृषीकेशो) stationed the best of
the chariot (rathotamam; रथोत्तमम्
) between
those two armies. (Shloka 24)
There are two pronouns used in this Shloka for Krishna and Arjuna
respectively which are “Hrishikesh” and “Gudaakesh”. There are a few explanations
for these two pronouns and their relevance. We are going to take up those
explanations and the most (possibly) appropriate meaning of these two pronouns in
our next post.
